Tricia O’Sullivan | Senior Associate
Tricia is a Senior Associate and Higher Rights Advocate; she acts as instructing solicitor on some of the firm’s most serious and complex cases. She has an extremely high success rate.
Prior to joining Sperrin Law, Tricia trained under King’s Counsel at renowned civil liberties and criminal defence firm Imran Khan & Partners. As a newly qualified solicitor, Tricia worked as a Senior Crown Prosecutor, prosecuting and directing investigations on a large Crown Court caseload for several years. She then worked very briefly at APPEAL, representing individuals wrongly convicted of murder, before joining Sperrin Law. Her experience defending, prosecuting and representing victims allows her to bring a different perspective to her work.
She has worked as instructing lawyer on a full range of criminal offences, from terrorism, murder, slavery, sexual offences and international human trafficking through to high-value fraud, cybercrime and blackmail. She has also worked on inquest and judicial review matters, in addition to the Undercover Policing Inquiry.
Previous clients range from members of the House of Lords through to members of ISIS; she is experienced in dealing with cases involving a high degree of media interest.
Tricia has particular experience representing vulnerable clients who are victims of abuse, having represented a large number of victims of child sexual abuse in civil litigation claims. She is a feminist lawyer committed to bringing a trauma-informed approach to her legal representation, having led Rape Crisis South London in the setting up of the national 24/7 rape crisis helpline, funded by the MoJ, in 2022.
She is available to be instructed on criminal defence, private prosecution, civil abuse claims and judicial reviews.
